We publish our annual statistics at the end of each financial year.
All NHS Boards are required to record and report any concerns raised through their local process in line with the National Whistleblowing Standards. You can find more details about this in the Annual Reporting section of our Training, guidance and resources webpage.
We encourage NHS Boards to use our published statistics alongside their own data to support learning and continuous improvement.
Available reports
Although our service began in 2021–22, we started publishing full annual statistics in 2024–25. This was due to concerns about sensitive data and protecting the confidentiality of individuals involved.
For the first year, we released only a high-level summary to mark the launch of the service. We waited to publish more detailed data until we were confident it could be shared safely and responsibly.
Now that more cases have been handled and reported both by us and by NHS Boards, the data can be shared more openly. We also want to help Boards better understand the types of concerns being raised with us.
