Free Whistleblowing Standards Training

Have you completed the free INWO training about the Standards hosted on Turas Learn?

Could you benefit from a refresher?

Do you know how many of your colleagues are yet to complete it?

Is it included in induction training plans?

The 2023 – 24 Annual Whistleblowing Reports submitted by Boards show significant variation in completion rates of this training. If you are not familiar with it, the training is broken down into three learning programmes:

  • for people needing an overview
  • for line managers
  • for senior managers

Each programme has a number of modules to complete to gain a certificate.

The modules teach:

  • how to use the Standards

  • the differences between whistleblowing and grievance processes

  • how managers should handle concerns

  • how managers can support and encourage staff to raise concerns and promote a healthy speak up culture.

This is essential learning for everyone delivering NHS services. Investing time to complete the training now could make all the difference in equipping your organisation to tackle challenging scenarios down the line. As a leader, ask yourself does your organisation give all staff the time and opportunity to complete the training? Could you do more?

Please take a minute to check whether your teams – and you! - are up to date and make the most of this free and important resource.

If you have any questions or comments about the training, please get in touch at [email protected].
